Troubleshooting Cases
Printability Issues
If models are outside the platform, rearrange these models manually:
- Reduce the spacing between models, see Check Printability.
- Rearrange the models in a different order, see Position Model.
If not all the models fit on the platform, reduce the number of models by deleting them.
If models have overhanging parts and do not have supports, printing is not possible.
Select Fix to fix this issue automatically, see Check Printability.
Some models might have an open contour. This may cause issues during printing. Selecting the Fix option will delete the not watertight models.
Some models might have the mesh unhealed. This may cause issues during printing.
Select Fix to fix this issue automatically, see Check Printability.
Some of the models intersect with each other. Use automatic placement to set the models on the platform correctly, see Position Model.
Errors
When the models are not leveled and moved up or down on the Z-axis, printing is not possible as this cause the following problems:
- Models would float (Z> 0).
- Models would be cut off (Z <0).
Select Fix to fix this issue automatically, see Check Printability.
For some models, it is not possible to generate supports on upper layers, omitting the first layer, so the following error takes place. To fix the issue:
-
Open the Supports and Base widget.
-
Select the BASIC SETTINGS section.
-
Deselect the Flat to platform option, if selected.
-
Review the supports settings.
-
Press Generate for Selected to generate supports for the models.
If models intersect each other, they are highlighted in red.
To fix the issue:
- Move the overlapping models manually away from each other.
- Use the Auto-Placement feature, see Position Model.
In case the layer thickness of sliced files differs from that in the buidstyle, the error message appears.
If that happens, select a buildstyle file with the same layer thickness as in the sliced file.
This error message appears when uploading models of different file types.
To fix this, create a new project and upload the files there.
This warning appears when the printer’s serial number (Printer S/N) is incorrect.
Check the printer’s serial number on the label affixed to the back of the printer and enter it in the Printer S/N field correctly.
This error message appears when trying to upload jobs via FTP to the offline printer.
To fix it, check the internet or network connection on the printer.
When the error message appears saying that the job cannot be saved to the restricted directory, it means that there are no permission rights to write to the chosen directory.
In such cases, select another directory for saving a job.
When the error message appears telling that the job cannot be sent to the printer, it means that the printer settings or buildstyle settings should be changed. The technicians and support specialists could perform these actions.
